In brief

  • A 4chan post dated December 12, 2023, predicted Bitcoin would top on October 6, 2025, and BTC hit an all-time high on that exact date.
  • The same 364-day pattern puts the cycle bottom on October 5, 2026, but Bitcoin trades near $86,000, about 32% below its peak.
  • Bitcoin already fell to roughly $57,000 around mid-year, and analyst Benjamin Cowen flags a possible fourth-quarter floor near $44,000.

On December 12, 2023, 4chan user SBC7H7La posted a screenshot with a pretty interesting pattern and a bold prediction Bitcoin’s next market top would land on October 6, 2025.

Bitcoin did exactly that, hitting an all-time high just above $126,000 on that date. The logic was pure numerology. Previous market lows to highs took 1,064 days, highs to lows took 364 days, and the pattern had happened twice in a row. The 4chan poster confidently said the simulation would repeat itself.

Myriad: When will Bitcoin hit a new all-time high? Click to make your prediction.

And, the prophecy was fulfilled. Despite the understandable skepticism, the, er, “simulation” repeated itself when Bitcoin touched $126,198.07 on October 6, 2025.

From there, until very recently, all traders saw was red. By late June, Bitcoin was 52% below its peak. Crypto asset manager 21Shares noted at the time that the drop was still milder than the 80%-plus bear markets of past cycles.

Now, the second half of the prophecy. Add 364 days to October 6, 2025 and you land on October 5, 2026. That’s today. So, per the 4chan math, this is the bottom.

Of course, you shouldn’t take our word on that, but sometimes if it looks like a duck and trades like a duck…

Bitcoin is trading around $86,100 this morning, with a very bullish setup forming up exactly today. Bitcoin stands nearly 30% below the peak and up about 2% on the day, after a jobs report showed the U.S. adding just 29,000 jobs in September against the 90,000 economists expected.

That might sound like bad news normally, but for traders and investors the math works out to the Federal Reserve likely keeping interest rates where they are now, as opposed to hiking them again. And lower rates (or, in this case, the absence of higher ones) are exactly the thing people putting money into risk assets like Bitcoin like to see.

That said, Bitcoin bottomed back in July at around $57K, which means Bitcoin is currently about 50% above its bottom.

Benjamin Cowen, a well-known fundamental analyst who says the accumulation phase began on July 1, still sees a window stretching for another leg down. The technical setup seems a bit more optimistic.

But none of that is as cool as trusting a random 4Chan setup, so choose your own adventure.
