Brickbat: Stop Asking Questions

In England, London’s Metropolitan Police investigated reporter Jack Grove after he and others raised questions about possible plagiarism and résumé embellishment by Jason Arday, a professor at the University of Cambridge. Arday, who has since resigned, complained after Grove emailed him several questions about those issues, and police spent four months investigating. They closed the case in February without ever interviewing Grove but still told him to stop contacting the professor because it was harming Arday’s mental health. Grove only found out about the investigation when officers called to say they were dropping it.
